Serbia Open 2014 report

SO slika2On last March 01-02, 2014 Serbian kickboxing federation hosted European cup „Serbia Open“ in city of Belgrade. On this WAKO international tournament participated 118 fighters from 42 clubs representing 7 countries. Numbers are not so great but level of the fights seen there, specially finals was amazing. We could see great final fights both in kicklight and K1 rules presented by some of WAKO World and European champions.

We hope that next year we will have some more fighters from more countries since this tournament is on very high organization and quality level with good prize for winers in all categories. Until then you can enjoy in video of final fights in K1 rules posted on our web page.

WELCOME AMONG THE WINNERS

Karlovac-Open-4 small

On last February 8-9, 2014, city of Karlovac was the center of European kickboxing. During two days of competition Karlovac hosted 1245 competitors representing 117 clubs from 15 countries. This kickboxing festival was organized under the auspices of Croatian Olympic Committee and was officially opened by Mr. Sinisa Krajač, representative of Croatian Olympic Committee. Among the organizations that have also been sponsors of this great WAKO event were the Ministry of Science and Sport of the Republic of Croatia, Karlovac County, the City of Karlovac and Karlovac sports community. The first day was reserved for the tatami sports where we could see many great fights on eight fighting areas. On the second day there were only ring sports and among more than 90 fights on two rings a lot of them made audience really enjoy in spectacular kickboxing. Large LED screens mounted in the center of the arena were something that could not be seen very often. Traditionally good organization of this event rose even higher popularity of kickboxing in Croatia. The impression is that the quality of the competition has grown B class level, so it is reasonable to consider possibility to place it at higher class level. It is a pity that the weather conditions that have brought unprecedented amounts of snow in this part of Europe, obstruct more teams to participate. Invitation sent out from our host to all to this beautiful city stands for the following year as well.

Slovak Open 2014

WAKO International tournament - Slovak Open 2014

( Memorial of Ladislav " Doky " Toth ) - Banska Bystrica , 21st - 22nd February 2014

slovak kickLast Saturday 22nd of February 2014 belonged to 15 Anniversary WAKO international tournament in kickboxing - Slovak Open ( Memorial DOKY Ladislav Tóth ) in Dukla hall in Banska Bystrica.

This year was exceptional  concerning on a record number of participants ( 646 starters from 51 clubs and 12 countries - BLR , CZE, CRO , FIN , HUN , ITA , NOR, POL, SLO , SRB , SVK, UA ) , as well as the names of individual representatives of countries , many of whom are champions of the world , Europe , and medalists from the top events WAKO , moreover great organized preparation of tournament from organizers side of the Slovak Association of kickboxing and domestic club ŠKP B.Bystrica .

After the opening ceremony of the tournament at 09.30AM and traditional minute of silence dedicated to the tragically deceased a representative from Slovakia and national coach Ladislav " Doky " Toth, associated with Tribute to the human victims in Kyev, Ukraine as well as the moral support to long-time President of WAKO Ennio Falsoni , a marathon was running on 6 tatamies  and in two rings.

Athletes demonstrated excellent performances, in some cases, the top world and European level , as well as matches of new fighters entering into international confrontation ..... but that´s why these tournaments are .

The referees have done under the guidance of experienced international ring inspectors and judges  quality performances without any delays or complications , so last matches ended before 20 hours, which is a particularly good time at the tournament of this magnitude .
